Bad guys don’t usually sit in their throne rooms and wait for a band of adventurers to show up and wreck things, so don’t be afraid to change elements of the campaign based on how the story develops. Not everybody has orcs or goblins working for them. Who works for this bad person? How did they come to be in their service? Freel free to make it different. Why are they bad? How did they turn evil? What are they trying to get out of this plot? If you can’t think of one off the top of your head, try. We broke down both to make it easy on you. You can do it in two simple steps: Write their story and make a stat block. The BBEG can be a bit daunting since that character is usually the centerpiece of a dungeon or a campaign. ![]() If you’re creating a big bad evil guy (or gal) for the end of your dungeon or campaign, don’t fret.
